Singing whales

Description

First strange sounds, similar to a quacking duck or croaking frog, was described by the crews of the submarines in the 1960s. These sounds were recorded in different parts of the southern ocean. At the moment we know that they are the source of Antarctic whales (Balaenoptera bonaerensis). Acoustic analysis of the data was published on 23 April 2014 in Biology Letters.
This phenomenon is called "Quakers" or Bio-duck sound
