Dreamland (1)

"Dreamland" is the fourth and fifth episodes of the sixth season of The X-Files series, which premiered on November 29 and December 6, 1998 on FOX. The episodes are of the "monster of the week" type and are not related to the main "mythology" of the series.

Mulder and Scully are trying to get into "Zone 51", the Mecca of ufologists and conspiracy theorists. On a night road in Nevada, their car is stopped by men in black and demanded to get away. Suddenly, an unknown aircraft flies over the heroes, and it turns out that Mulder swapped his body with one of the men in black. Later it turns out that the pilot of this secret aircraft also swapped his body with an Indian old woman on the reservation.

Now Mulder will have to try on the role of a typical representative of the middle class with his own house, wife and two children, and also prove to Scully the possibility of moving souls and returning to his former body.

The UFO is a top-secret aircraft developed by the US Army based on alien technologies. It has a triangular shape with a bright light source in the center. According to one of the characters, the military has been flying such devices since 1953.

The breakdown and subsequent crash of the aircraft leads to the appearance of an abnormal zone in which objects penetrate into each other, and people exchange bodies.

An anomalous zone is formed within a radius of several tens of kilometers around the crash site of a secret aircraft built on the basis of alien technologies. Within the zone, objects sometimes penetrate each other, and people exchange bodies. The effect is temporary, but to eliminate it, it is necessary to return to the same place where it began to manifest. After the restoration of the natural course of things, all the consequences disappear, and people do not remember what happened.

The characters of the series have a vague idea of the reasons for what is happening, as they are only testing a new technique, but do not know the principles of its operation. They call the manifestations of the anomaly "deformations" and consider them "distortions of the space-time continuum":

An anomaly created by an aircraft that operated in pulsating gravity mode before falling.

Anti-gravity systems use bends in space and time to push. A sudden change in the flight path of the vessel could create distortions, which we are witnessing now. The lizard and the stone exist simultaneously in the same space and time.

A common feature characteristic of anti-gravity shocks is the loss of time.

It is the "loss of time", that is, the loss of memory about events that occurred in a certain time period, that the characters explain that they do not remember any anomalies, although some of them were in the epicenter of events.
