Arthur Dales summons Mulder and Scully to his holiday home in Florida where he is concerned over the disappearance of his neighbors. Despite the raging hurricane, Mulder and Scully head out to investigate and discover several strange deaths caused by an octopus-like sea creature that swam in through the overflowing sewer system.

Description

"Agua mala" (Spanish for "Bad Water") is the thirteenth episode of the sixth season of the X-Files series. The episode belongs to the "monster of the week" type and is not related to the "mythology" of the series.

Plot

Arthur Dahles, who lives in a trailer park in Florida, turns to Mulder and Scully for help when the family living next door to him disappears. Hiding from an impending hurricane, the agents find themselves locked with a group of locals in a building where something is hiding in the water.

Aquatic creatures

An unknown creature came from the depths of the sea during a tropical storm. According to Mulder's theory, it has a liquid body and is water that takes the form of a tentacle just before the attack.

Attacking a person, the creature leaves larvae in him, which grow by feeding on bodily fluids. Quite quickly (within a few hours), the larvae turn the victim's body first into a clot of transparent whitish mucus, and then into a liquid.

The creature lives only in salt water, and fresh water kills (or washes out) both an adult and even larvae from the body of an infected person.
