Set in 1989, the story of the founding of The Lone Gunmen is finally told as we see how a straight-laced federal employee, a sex mad AV expert, and a nerdy computer hacker meet Susanne Modeski, a strange woman with evidence of a government conspiracy. When their plan to expose the conspiracy fails and Susanne is captured by a group of men-in-black, led by none other than X, they soon become a paranoid group of government watchdogs.

Description

"Unusual Suspects "is the third episode of the fifth season of the X – Files television series. The episode belongs to the "monster of the week" type and is not related to the main "mythology" of the series.

Plot

The episode tells the story of FBI Agent Fox Mulder and the "Lone Gunmen" meeting, as well as their growing belief in government conspiracies. The story is told by the trio of "Lone Gunmen "to the police officers who detained them at the warehouse, where Fox Mulder lies naked in one of the boxes and repeats:"They are here."

In 1989, two computer salesmen and a federal employee at an electronics show encounter a girl named Susan Modeski, who is hiding from government forces, including FBI agent Fox Mulder. She tells the trio that she participated in secret government projects related to chemical weapons, and prepared secret experiments on ordinary citizens, but decided to stop doing this and make the truth public.

The Alien

After inhaling a psychotropic substance, Agent Mulder sees hallucinations in which the surrounding people appear to him as aliens.
