Truth Seekers

Truth Seekers is a British horror Comedy series released in October 2020. The first two episodes premiered at the CannesSeries festival on October 10, 2020, and the entire season was released on Amazon Prime Video on October 30, 2020.

The series follows a team of paranormal researchers who team up to video Ghost appearances across the UK and share their adventures on a YouTube channel.

As researchers equipped with homemade Ghost detection devices find themselves in haunted churches, underground bunkers, and abandoned hospitals, encounters with the supernatural become more frequent, and adventures become more frightening and even deadly, as they begin to uncover a plot that could lead to the end of all of humanity.

The series shows ghosts that appear to people to help or warn about something. They retain consciousness and memories of their life and the circumstances of their death, but their materialization requires a guide to open the door between the worlds.

Ghosts can be seen and heard by anyone. Unlike living people, ghosts flicker like a bad image on a digital TV.

The cause of the poltergeist is the restless souls of people who have moved into household items – a radio station, a doll, etc. Such spirits retain consciousness, but are bound to the place or object they inhabit at the time of death. The energy of these spirits is so high that it affects the surrounding reality, maintaining electrical appliances (lamps, radio stations, etc.). They can see people and talk to them.

The transmigration of the spirit of a deceased person into an object can occur either accidentally or be triggered by a spell written in an ancient witchbook.

To get rid of the poltergeist, it is necessary to explain to the spirit that nothing else holds it in this world. For example, the spirit of a soldier who entered the radio station after a lightning strike, for many years broadcast his last message to the headquarters. He finds peace after learning that the war is long over.

When Elton opens the door between the worlds, not only the ghosts enter, but also (presumably) the spirit of death, which haunts them and tries to bring them back.

One of the main characters has the ability to open a door to a parallel world inhabited by ghosts. This allows him to both accompany ghosts to another world, and extract people who are stuck in a parallel reality to our world.

The series ' antagonist tries to move his spirit into a parallel world of eternal bliss. To do this, he uses a spell from an ancient book written in human blood on human skin. The rite of passage involves the simultaneous death of a large number of people (a certain amount of "spiritual energy" must be released) during a total Eclipse of the sun.

You can also use spells from this book to summon lightning, banish ghosts from our world, and close the door between dimensions.

The series mentions a giant cat from the area of Bodmin moor (Cornwall, England), and even shows a photo of it, but it turns out to be a fake.
