Time Cop
Description
The sixth episode of the fourth season of the series is called "Time Policeman" (orig. "Time Cop").
Plot
During an evening patrol, police officers Minogue and O'Leary encounter a "time worm" that sucks energy out of people and creates wormholes that allow time travel. Minogue and O'Leary find themselves in 1994, where they meet nine-year-old future Sergeant Maaka, who dreams of becoming a policeman. Returning to the present, they discover that as a result of their intervention, an alternative timeline has appeared in which Maaka has not become a sergeant, and zombies and other monsters are walking the streets. Realizing that Maaka did not join the ranks of the police as a result of an untimely meeting with them, Minogue and O'Leary return to 1994 to prevent changes. After defeating the time worm, they return to 2022, where they cheer up Maaka, who doubts his police career.
Zombies
Due to changes in the timeline, the zombies that threatened Wellington in the last episode of the first season were not defeated and flooded the city.
Chronoanomalia
The "time worm" is able to open two-way portals leading to another time (from 2022 to 1994). The portal is a circular membrane hanging in the air with a mirror surface, the size of which is sufficient for an adult to pass through it.
With a significant change in the past, an alternative present is formed, which can be corrected by eliminating the cause of the changes. Presumably, after passing through the portal, a person falls into the same moment of the past (otherwise the officers would not be able to correct the present). At the same time, there may be several copies of people who have passed through the portal in the past.
The portal remains open until the worm disintegrates, and for some time after that.
Unknown creatures
The unknown creature in the episode is a "time worm" consisting of many small shiny worms. He is able to "absorb" time, taking it from his victims (who at the same time age dramatically), as well as open time portals.
The worm manages to win by throwing a spinner into its mouth, after which it splits into components that scatter in different directions.
The portal remains open for some time after the worm disintegrates.
