On a dark and somber night, a secret cabal of monster hunters emerge from the shadows and gather at the foreboding Bloodstone Temple following the death of their leader. In a strange and macabre memorial to the leader’s life, the attendees are thrust into a mysterious and deadly competition for a powerful relic—a hunt that will ultimately bring them face to face with a dangerous monster.

Description

"Night Werewolf" (English: "Werewolf by Night") is a special television edition of the Marvel universe series, released on the American streaming service Disney+. The main character of the episode is based on the comic book character of the same name published by Marvel Comics.

Plot

Jack Russell arrives at the estate of the recently deceased monster hunter Ulysses Bloodstone. Together with other applicants, he is going to participate in the hunt, during which the new owner of the Bloodstone relic will be determined. Ulysses' daughter, Elsa, who has long left the family, also arrives at the estate, planning to take possession of the artifact despite the protests of Verussa's stepmother.

The hunt begins in a maze-like area where a captive monster wanders with a Bloodstone artifact attached to its back. After a brief encounter with Elsa, Russell finds a monster that turns out to be his friend and promises to save him. Soon Jack joins forces with Elsa, hiding in the tomb room. They make an agreement: Elsa will help Jack free the monster (whose name, as it turns out, is Ted) and for this she will receive a relic. As a result, Russell destroys the wall, opening Ted the way to the forest, and Elsa manages to remove the relic from the monster's back. Verussa and the remaining hunters arrive, and Russell is about to pick up the artifact, but he discards it, since Jack himself is a monster.

Verussa imprisons Russell and Elsa in a cage and uses the relic to turn Jack into a monster. Russell turns into a werewolf and attacks Verussa and her henchmen. Elsa escapes from the cage and kills the hunters, but she is attacked by Russell. However, he recognizes her and runs away without harming her. Enraged, Verussa tries to kill Elsa, but she is killed by Ted, who has returned for a friend, who then goes to look for Russell. Elsa inherits the estate, and Russell and Ted reunite in the woods.

Werewolf

The main character of the film is a man named Jack Russell, who turns out to be a classic werewolf. He turns into a giant monster with the features of a wolf, after which he behaves aggressively, attacking others. In the transformed state, he has great strength and endurance. His mind is clouded, he is not aware of himself, but he is able to remember attachment to a certain person by his smell.

Usually transformations occur at the full moon, and Jack has already learned to live with them, locking himself in a cage for a few days every month. However, with the help of the Bloodstone magic Stone, the transformation can be triggered at any time. Touching this stone of a werewolf in human form causes the latter severe pain, resulting in loss of consciousness.

Land creatures

An unknown creature is a monster named Ted, who is rescued by the main character of the series. He is a tree-like humanoid of extremely tall stature with tentacles on his face. The creature is intelligent and able to communicate with people, although it does not speak human speech. It has great physical strength, as well as the ability to incinerate a person in a matter of seconds, just by touching it with your hands.

Witchcraft

Witchcraft in the film is created with the help of the magic stone Bloodstone, whose power allows you to identify monsters that have taken human form. So, in the case of a werewolf, the stone allows you to cause a transformation at any time (for this you need to read a spell). Touching a monster to a stone causes the latter acute pain and makes it weaker, but at the same time more aggressive. Monsters used to be killed with this stone.
