Description

The Invisible Ghost is an American horror film released in 1941.

Plot

A series of unsolved murders takes place in the house of Charles Kessler.

Kessler lives with his daughter and servants; his wife left him, going to her best friend. Soon after, she was involved in a car accident, as a result of which the woman's mind was damaged. She secretly lives in the basement of the servants ' house and sometimes goes out into the courtyard. After seeing his missing wife through the window, Kessler plunges into a trance-like state, attacks the household and kills them.

Ralph Dixon, the fiance of Kessler's daughter, is convicted and executed on charges of one of the murders. After a while, Dixon's twin brother Paul arrives, and as a result of a series of events, including after the capture of Kessler's wife, the secret is revealed.

Telepathy

This is not explicitly stated, but the main character of the film, named Charles Kessler, most likely has a telepathic connection with his wife.

After a car accident, a woman has lost her memory and suffers from an obsession that her husband will kill her if she returns home. At night, she goes to the house and looks out the window, behind which Kessler is. Every time he somehow feels it, he goes to the window, sees his wife and falls into a trance. In this state, he moves around the house with an unsteady gait, attacks the first person he sees, and strangles him. Charles wakes up only the next morning and does not remember anything about what happened. A sudden loud sound, such as a thunderclap, can bring him out of his trance.

The presence of Kessler's mind control on the part of his wife is indirectly confirmed by the fact that he wakes up at the time of her death, despite the fact that she is in another room.
