Inspector Brumpby (Jaroslav Marvan) and the young crime reporter Allan Pinkerton (Vít Olmer) attend wedding of Sir Hannibal Morris (Oldrich Nový) with beautiful Clarence (Kveta Fialová). After the ceremony, Clarence's ex-husband, criminal Manuel Diaz (Waldemar Matuska), who was believed dead, shows up in her room. He wants to get his hands on Clarence and, most importantly, on the money she would inherit in the eventuality of her new husband's death. Diaz makes attempts on Hannibal's life. He knows his way about an underground labyrinth in the château and the traps he sets up for Hannibal seem to work, since Hannibal is apparently found dead after an explosion in the labyrinth, after which his body vanishes. The inspector tries to solve the countless mysteries. In this, he is joined by Allan, always ahead of the man of the law in his estimation and judgment of the situation.

Description

"Ghost castle Morrisville," (orig. "Fantom Morrisvillu") is a feature film that is a parody of the mystical investigators (in particular, a fairly well-known film "the pit and the pendulum" 1961 issue). Premiere in Czechoslovakia, on 15 July 1966, and in 1967 the film was released in cinemas of the USSR.

Plot

Musician of the symphonic orchestra of the Opera house during the performance, which give the Opera of Georges Bizet "Carmen", reads the English detective. This book produces such a strong impression that he is her hero, sir Morris Hannibal, owner of the Gothic castle.

The fraudster Manuel Diaz hunts for the treasure of sir Morris who married lady Clarence Hamilton. For the wedding, among other guests invited reporter with the name and calling of the detective in a class of Alan Pinkerton and the old police officer from Scotland Yard inspector Bremby.

Manuel Diaz is trying to kill sir Morris, but he mysteriously disappears from a locked room, which then appears his lifeless body. The Hindu, superintendent of the tigers in the garden of sir Morris tells Pinkerton about the existence of grass, which keeps the human mind and ear, but does his body look like a corpse. Pinkerton realizes that sir Morris might use such a drug, to test his new wife.

Manuel Diaz is represented by attorney, "the widow": he has a document confirming that she was his wife, and then all her inheritance goes to Diaz. Pinkerton is trying to prevent the autopsy of the body of sir Morris and funeral procedures. Diaz realizes that sir Morris was alive, and inciting him to the tigers. The Indian, sensing the danger, telepathically orders the tigers are not the owner of the castle.

Diaz steals jewels "widow" Morris and will, which can deprive of her inheritance. The Ghost prevents him to hand over the jewels accomplices, and those deciding that Diaz lied to them, write a letter to the chief of police. In it they also indicate that Diaz is not the husband of Mrs. Morris, as the marriage certificate is bogus. Manuel was arrested, but he manages to escape. He's trying to kill Pinkerton, the chief of police and Mrs. Morris, but the Ghost prevents him. At the end of the film it turns out that the Ghost was the owner of the castle, who suffers from sleepwalking.
