Description

"Everything Everywhere All at Once" (English: "Everything Everywhere All at Once") is an American science fiction black comedy, released in 2022.

The picture became the opening film of the South by Southwest Festival on March 11, 2022. In the United States, the film was released in a limited release on March 25, 2022, and in a wide release on April 8.

The inspiration for the directors when creating the film, among other things, was the film "The Matrix", as well as the universe of films by Wong Karvai.

Plot

Imagine that there are thousands of other versions of our reality, where you are a completely different person. Evelyn is personally convinced of this when her husband from a parallel world asks her for help. Having gained access to the memories, emotions and diverse skills of other versions of herself, she must fight an evil entity that threatens the entire infinite multiverse. And, if you're really lucky, finally sort out your taxes.

Parallel world

Each decision of each of the living people leads to the emergence of several alternative realities. In one of these worlds, people have learned to move their consciousness into their copies living in other worlds. At the moment of moving (often short-term), a person receives all the memory, skills and abilities of his copy.

The movement is carried out using a special device placed on the ears like a wireless headset. The probability of a successful move is very small, and to increase it, a person must do something even less likely, which is not typical for him (for example, cutting his fingers four times with paper).

A person's consciousness, moving into his copy from an alternate universe, experiences enormous stress and "cracks". If you move too often, the brain does not have time to eliminate these "cracks", and there is a risk of irretrievable loss of reason (or vice versa - gaining enlightenment, this is from which side to look at). Not everyone can become "enlightened", but such people gain power over reality and can change it at will. Their consciousness splits, and they live in all parallel realities at once.

One of these people created a kind of black hole in the form of a huge bagel, which contains all the fillings of all the worlds and therefore sucks in everything that is dangerously close. This bagel threatens the existence of all worlds.
