A former special forces agent is trapped in a time loop and relives his death over and over again. To escape the terrible situation, he must track down those responsible and stop them.

Description

"Day of the Trigger" (English "Boss Level") is an American science fiction action film directed by Joe Carnahan.

A free preview of the film, sponsored by entertainment website Collider, took place at arclight Cinemas in Hollywood on February 11, 2020. The final release to the general public is scheduled for 2021 on the streaming service Hulu.

Plot

Former Special Forces soldier Roy Pulver starts every day the same way, fighting off murderers: a big man with a machete, a machine gunner in a helicopter, two beauties in a fast car, a Chinese woman masterfully wielding a sword, a dwarf bomber and other psychopaths. In the end, the Swarm invariably dies, the day begins anew.

One day, Roy learns that his ex-girlfriend, who was engaged in secret development, is dead. He decides to get to the bottom of the causes of her death, and at the same time find out how he can get out of this unbearable time loop.

Chronoanomalia

The main character of the film falls into a time loop and is forced to live over and over the same day. He stored the memories of all the iterations, in contrast to other people. The day is restarted after the death of the main character, regardless of how and at what point it occurs.

The reason for the appearance of a time loop is a specially designed mechanism-the "Flywheel of Osiris". To create a loop, the main character's DNA is placed in the mechanism, and only he can break it by entering the "Flywheel" and becoming one with it. If this is not done, then in the evening of the same day the end of the world comes, killing all life on the planet. Probably, the "end of the world" is embedded in the algorithm of the "Flywheel", which itself restarts the day if the hero for some reason does not die.
