Plot
Beginner Amateur astronomer John Putnam and his girl Ellen become accidental witnesses of the meteorite fall. Interested the pair is heading towards the crash site.

When the aliens kidnap Ellen, John Putnam comes to him with a request to let the girl go. The aliens say they don't want to cause harm and will soon leave, but John needs to help them, not allowing other people to the crash site of the ship. The police are going to storm the alien ship. John persuades the aliens to return spoofed hostages in exchange for protection from police. When people are secure, John detonates the mine and cuts off the passage to the spacecraft.
The aliens finish the repair work on the ship and fly away. John hopes aloud that they'll be back sometime in the future.
