Vardeger

It is a precursor spirit in Scandinavian folklore.

Vardeger is the personification of the inner essence of man, which manifests itself in the form of an animal closest to the human personality.

Stories usually include cases that are essentially almost deja vu, but on the contrary, when a spirit with steps, voice, smell or appearance and general behavior of the subject precedes the event. As a result, witnesses believe that they saw or heard a real person before he physically arrives.

He is compared to a ghostly doppelganger (but without the negative connotation) or a form of bilocation . In Finnish folklore, this concept is known as etiainen.
