Swamp Monster

A creature from the folklore of the USA. He lives on Honey Island (Honey Island) among the swamps.

The indigenous inhabitants of these places (Indians) call this creature Letiche, and the legends about it are several hundred years old. The word Letiche itself can be roughly translated from the local Indian language as "carnivorous aquatic humanoid". Locals call the monster Tainted Keitre.

The creature is described as very tall (2 meters) and bipedal, with gray fur, yellow or red eyes, and smelling terrible (similar to the smell of a decomposing corpse). The tracks allegedly left by the creature have four webbed fingers. In 2007, it was even reported that a plaster cast was made from the monster's trail, although there were not four fingers on the trail, but three.

The first stories about him appeared in 1963.

According to one version, the monster appeared from a sexual relationship between a chimpanzee and an alligator (legend tells of a train wreck in this area at the beginning of the XX century. A traveling circus allegedly moved on the train, and many animals allegedly escaped from it, almost all of which soon died, but a group of chimpanzees allegedly managed to survive, which mixed with the local population of alligators, as a result of which a monster appeared). 

In the legends of local residents, another version says: once upon a time, children who were raised by local alligators disappeared in the swamp and subsequently became part of their pack, as a result of which a population of monsters allegedly appeared that hide during the day and hunt at night, as well as attack people and livestock. Many Indians believed this and blamed the supposedly existing monsters for many murders.

From the 1970s to the present, several scientific expeditions have been undertaken to search for this monster, but none of them has been successful.
