Gulayabani

According to Turkish beliefs, Gulayabani is a giant bearded ghoul – a kind of evil spirit of the desert.

The favorite activities of these ghostly creatures were the attacks and murders of travelers, as well as grave robbing. Although they most often inhabit desert areas, Gulayabani seem to prefer slightly less hot areas.

According to one urban legend, a group of teenagers were walking home through the forest. Suddenly, they noticed a mysterious well. Curiously, they quickly decided to remove the piece of wood blocking the entrance. Nothing unusual happened and, unaware of the danger lurking in the depths, they decided to continue their journey home. What they didn't know was that they were being watched by a terrifying creature. Gulayabani wanted to take their lives in order to take over their souls.
