American hydrogen air taxi has broken the flight range record

Joby Aviation from the USA, in a publication on its official website, told about the successful testing of the hydrogen-electric version of the S4 air taxi. It is noted that during the tests, the pre-production prototype managed to fly a fabulous distance of 842 kilometers and set a range record among similar hydrogen air taxis.

The flight took place on June 24, during which a demonstration sample equipped with a hydrogen-electric power plant covered a distance of 842 kilometers. The power reserve of its electric version, in turn, is much more modest and is only 249 kilometers.

Having carried out a vertical takeoff, the air taxi turned circles for almost five hours near the Joby production site in the Californian city of Marina. After landing, over 10% of the initial supply of hydrogen remained in the S4 tank.
