Writers' House in Calcutta

The most famous "ghost building" is the Writers' House in Calcutta, built by the British authorities. Until October last year, the secretariat of the Government of West Bengal was located here. On December 8, 1930, Police General Simpson was killed by Indian insurgents within these walls. Since then, his ghost has been living in the building. The staff of the Writers' House try not to stay here alone after dark.
