Wolfsegg Castle

Замок Вольфзегг, Germany

Description

One of the famous European ghosts is a Woman in white (Weisse Frau), who walks around the Bavarian castle Wolfsegg (Wolfsegg).

According to legend, during the Middle Ages, Countess Clara von Helfenstein lived in it with her husband, Knight Ulrich von Laaber. He was often away, and his wife wanted male attention. Clara hired a rich merchant, Moller, who was her husband's enemy.

After learning about the betrayal, the husband paid two peasants, and they stabbed Clara. A month later, Ulrich died, and then their children died. So, in 1475, the von Laaber family disappeared. According to legend, the spirit of Clara returned to the castle after the funeral at night and continues to host there until now.
