Turgay deflection

The Turgai trough (hollow) extends south of the Trans-Urals and the Kazakh small-moor for many hundreds of kilometers to the shifting semi-deserts of the Aral Sea. It became famous not only for the complex of ancient religious buildings located on its territory, but also for its mysterious lights and mirages.

This phenomenon has been repeatedly described by Soviet geologists since the mid-50s and continues to stir the minds of scientists and researchers today. As a rule, lights appear in the evening twilight somewhere near the horizon, and sometimes at a distance of two or three kilometers. The fire then flares up more, then fades, and then suddenly disappears.

Local residents explained to geologists that it was the soul of the deceased wandering at his burial ground-mazar. Ufologists also suggest that the reason for everything is the appearance of UFOs.
