Shaitanka Lake

The depth of the reservoir has given rise to a whole bunch of different myths and legends: there are monsters, UFOs, ghosts, and even government conspiracies.

The first legend tells about the so-called "Ashinsky lochness– - an ichthyosaur with a human voice. Allegedly, the monster guards the lake and periodically scares away rare fishermen who decided to sit with fishing rods on the shore of Shaitanka.

According to the second version, local fishermen are not scared away by a monster at all, but by the most ordinary ghost – it is believed that during the war the bodies of dead soldiers were thrown here.
