Percy French Manor

The history of this estate began in 1764, when the Princes Golitsyns became the owners of Terenga, having bought land from the Dolgoruky.  Dolgoruky reached the Simbirsk province! But it was the Golitsyns who built a three-storey mansion in the center of the village, around which so many legends are now walking. Then Terenga passed into the possession of the tsarist general and privy councilor Alexander Skrebitsky, about whose ruthlessness and cruelty to the guilty serfs, history has preserved many legends. Allegedly, for the torture of serfs, Skrebitsky equipped a secret basement with inquisitorial devices like a rack and a guillotine in the manor. Here, according to legend, children were delivered to the landowner for love joys, who did not return from the basement…
