Nedzica Castle

Zamek Dunajec, 1, Niedzica-Zamek, Niedzica, gmina Łapsze Niżne, Nowotarski powiat, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, 34-441, Poland

Description

The White Lady appears in the Niedzica Castle - the ghost of an Inca princess who once lived in the manor. Legend has it that before her death, the princess hid in the castle the Inca's will and a map leading to valuable treasures hidden in Lake Titicaca.

The legend of Niedzica Castle states that one of the fortress owners married a Peruvian princess. From their marriage, Umina was born - the daughter of a descendant of the Inca royal family: Tupac Amaru. The family initially lived in South America, but because of the Inca uprising against the invaders, they were forced to return to Niedzica Castle. Unfortunately, after returning to the castle, Umina was murdered, and her son was left an orphan. Umina's father entrusted the care of his grandson to his nephew Wenceslaus Benesch-Berzevic. It is reported that the will, granting him guardianship over the child, also included the Inca will and instructions for finding treasures sunk in Lake Titicaca.

The ghost of Umina appears in Niedzica Castle. It is accompanied by strong gusts of wind and cold. The White Lady always appears at the site of her death - in the courtyard in front of the chapel.
