Lake Litovka

Lake Litovka (near Novogrudok). It is considered the most "mermaid" lake.

In the old days, girls were saved in its waters from unwanted marriage, and then their spirits frightened the locals.

Locals say that once the local girls had a fashion: to drown themselves if they marry an old man, even if he is rich. Adam Mickiewicz created additional PR: in the poem "Grazhina", praising the heroic act of the wife of the Timpani, he connects the name of the lake with the Lithuanian princess.
