Lake Janisjärvi

Yanisjarvi Lakes is located in the Sortavala district. It was formed at the site of the meteorite fall. Anomalous magnetic and gravitational fields are observed in the lake area. It is believed that they have a beneficial effect on humans.

Unexplained phenomena occur on the lake. In 1972, fishermen saw how the surface lit up, a hum was heard from under the water, and glowing balls hung over the lake. Then the scientists reassured the public, explaining the spheres with ball lightning, the hum - the noise of a hydroelectric power station nearby, and the glow of the water surface - the fact that the lake is located in a crater from the fall of a meteorite.
