Jeju Island

Now Jeju is rightfully considered one of the most beautiful places in South Korea. During the Korean War, the South Korean side destroyed anyone suspected of sympathizing with communism. Thus, 10% of the then population of Jeju fell victim to mass killings in 1949.

Locals say that the ghosts of the unfortunate still roam the shores of the island.
