Gorky reservoir

In the 1950s, the territory of Puchezh fell into the flooding zone of the Gorky reservoir. According to the stories of old-timers, some residents did not want to leave their homes, even chained themselves to the gate. Some police allegedly failed to forcibly take away, and they were flooded along with houses. In the shallowest place – not far from the city beach, the squares of houses are still visible. Especially when water is discharged to the reservoir, it drops by a meter. Or just on sunny days.
