Devil's Hole

A unique formation that is located in a desert place of Nevada (USA). This is a hole in the ground through which, according to legends, from time to time an underground spirit penetrates into our world, performing evil miracles. The size of the hole at the surface is small - about 9 by 12 meters at the surface. The distance to the groundwater level (at the bottom of the "Devil's Hole" lake inhabited by rare species of fish) reaches 120 meters. Nobody knows the real depth of the cleft.

Geologists believe that the mysterious sinkhole is nothing more than a gap between two tectonic plates, which at this point slightly moved away from each other.
