Dead Lake

The dead (belor. Dead) - a lake in the Myadel district in Minsk region in Belarus. 

The uniqueness of the Dead Lake is that, despite the fact that its depth is 24 meters, there is a 300-meter cavity under the lake, in which hydrogen sulfide is concentrated. The dead lake is a typical meromictic type of lakes, the masses of water in which the depth has not been mixed for centuries.

There is a legend that in this lake there lived ozernitsy (local mermaids), and at the bottom of the lake itself there were healing springs.
