Damn dining room

парк около усадьбы, Lipetskaya oblast', Russian Federation

Description

The manor complex, which belonged to the Sheremetev nobles in the XIX – XX centuries. The palace in the center of the estate, made in the Gothic style, resembles a medieval European castle at all.  The castle was once also the property of Prince Andrey Vladimirovich Romanov. The castle was built by architect Alexander von Gauguin in 1902.

For more than a hundred years, the courtyard of the estate of Prince Andrew (and this was exactly the courtyard in the Gothic style!) it amazes visitors with its beauty.

In the north-western part of the woodland, blocks of sandstone form the composition "table and chairs around it". People among themselves call this place "the devil's table" or "the devil's dining room". This is a huge stone in the form of a rounded table, around which there are stone chairs. There are stones in the form of a sofa, chairs, an ottoman.

The locals will tell you that they do not visit this place, and they do not advise anyone, since sorcerers and witches from all over the Black Earth have been holding their sabbaths here for a long time. Because of this, it is believed that portals to other worlds open in this place.

And below from the "devil's dining room" there are many more huge boulders scattered along the slope. According to legend, the raging devil smashed the "furniture" here, being dissatisfied with something. And the place itself is really unkind. The forest here is dark, looks ominous, you can't hear the chirping of birds. Everything seems to have died out here.

There is also a terrible legend associated with this place of evil spirits:

Evgenia Oldenburg, the mistress of Ramon Castle, like many representatives of the House of Romanov, suffered from leukemia. For healing, Evgenia turned not only to traditional medicine, but also to healers. To cure her, the Ramon sorcerer Rodya turned for help to his brother and fellow sorcerer from Borok - the Rogue. The latter used a terrible rite in the healing of Eugenia of Oldenburg – the preparation of a drink from the blood of a baby, with the rite of sacrifice on this very "devil's table". And the evil spirit helped Eugenia of Oldenburg. She began to feel much better, but at the same time, she, from nowhere, had an attraction to the sorcerer Rhoda, at whose request the Rogue made the potion also a love spell. Having learned about the Princess's sympathy for the "extravagance", the husband of Evgenia Oldenburg killed the sorcerer Rodya, pinning him to the ground with an aspen stake...

Now access to the castle is restricted by the owner, and the area around it is fenced. They say that excursions are sometimes held here.
