Church of the Presentation of the Most Holy Theotokos

Information about this church is found in the Belgorod census book for 1664. On the shore of one of the lakes on an old map (now the area of the intersection of Civil Avenue and Belgorod Regiment Street) two temples are depicted: stone and wooden. Kamenny, Uspeno-Mikhailovsky, was well known and existed until the 1930s. Even his photos have been preserved. But they didn't know anything about the wooden one.

There is a legend about the Church of the Presentation of the Most Holy Theotokos with a chapel St. Sergius of Radonezh (later this temple was called Sergeyevsky), described by Ivan Kulegaev in 1911, who allegedly drowned in a lake near the fence of the Mikhailovsky temple.

"Apparently, flooded by spring floods, the church gradually deteriorated until it completely collapsed," suggests Elena Vladimirovna. "The people kept the memory of her thanks to a beautiful legend."

However, people still believe that from under the ground on big church holidays you can hear the ringing of bells and the voices of those who are still in an unknown church and continue to pray for the living.
