Church of Peter and Paul

Храм Петра и Павла, Ярославль, Yaroslavskaya oblast', Russian Federation

Description

The park itself was laid out by the owner of the manufactory Ivan Zatrapeznov in 1742 next to the newly built two-story church of Peter and Paul. Five ponds connected by irrigation channels became a beautiful addition.

After the revolution, the church was closed, the ponds were polluted, and the territory itself was renamed the "Park of the Sixteenth Party Congress". Just along its alleys, they say, an uncle in old-fashioned black clothes hangs out at night. He is sometimes called a gentleman - they say, he walks and looks at what ungrateful descendants have done to the park. In fact, the master was not here, and the manager of the manufactory was directly responsible for the park in front of the Shabby Ones. He probably takes night walks.

Especially often the ghost is seen at the fourth pond — because, according to another legend, silver salaries from temple icons were buried in its muddy bottom after the revolution. By the way, this is really the cleanest of the local reservoirs. Some suggest that just because of the abundance of silver. In general, the ghost of the manager guards this pond very carefully, scaring random passers-by and couples hiding in the bushes with his appearance...
