Catacombs of Paris

Катакомбы, Париж, France

Description

The Paris catacombs are a network of artificial tunnels and caves located under the city, ranging in length from 187 to 300 km, according to various sources. Part of the catacombs was turned into an ossuary centuries ago – a place to store skeletal remains. Since the end of the XVIII century, the remains of almost six million people have been buried in the catacombs.

There are many legends about the ossuary associated with ghosts.

Our comments

Now part of the catacombs and the ossuary have been turned into a museum open to everyone. And there are a lot of people who want to - we spent 4 hours in line, more than in any other museum. Groups are launched into the museum every 5 minutes, there are about 20 people in a group. The place is quite gloomy, and in the semi-darkness reigning there, any shadow can be mistaken for a ghost by impressionable persons. However, if there were real "canonical" ghosts in these places, then with such a large number of visitors there should be a lot of photos with them. However, neither in our photos nor in the search results on the Internet, we found nothing that could not be explained by poor shooting conditions. It remains possible that the ghosts appear only at night and some employee of the catacombs will respond to our requests and provide us with night photos or photos of the ghosts themselves.
