Casa Cuna Shelter

Кадис, Spain

Description

Located on the old Dr. Tolosa Latour Street, in the current San Severiano neighborhood, it is a place that was run from the very beginning by the nuns of Mercy, and was intended to collect illegitimate children and those their parents could not take care of.

After a long, uneventful life, on the tragic night of August 18, 1947, allegedly because of the heat, the underground powder cellars of the submarine defense base number one, which stored 1947 mines of submarines of the Great Patriotic War and were allegedly inactive. According to official versions, only 150 deaths and 5,000 wounded were recorded, although unofficial figures claim much larger figures.

In fact, the house was completely destroyed, only the central walls of the building remained standing.

In the early 1990s, the building was sold, becoming the headquarters of the Radio Onda network and its employees.

In the studio, located at the end of a long staircase leading to a narrow corridor, there was a large window through which the radio group working there that night saw two young men in antique clothes running down the corridor. Faced with such an event, one of the workers turns to young people with the intention of asking them what they are doing here and who they are. What was the fright of the poor worker who, sticking his head out into the corridor, saw that there was no one there.

After several years of similar situations, the building is transferred to the INEM office.
