Aokigahara Forest

лес Аокигахара, Japan

Description

At the foot of Mount Fuji is the Aokigahara Forest. Every year, from 70 to 100 bodies are found here – this is the second most popular place in the world for settling accounts with life among suicides (the championship is located at the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco).

A magnetic anomaly makes a compass a completely useless object, and a similar terrain does not allow you to find a way out from memory.

The local legend is that demons and ghosts live in this forest, and those who enter here with heavy thoughts and clouded minds can be convinced by evil forces to end their lives once and for all.

Rumor has it that you can see the white ghostly outlines of the yurei here between the trees. According to Shintoism, the souls of those who died a natural death are united with the spirits of their ancestors. Those who have accepted a violent death or committed suicide become wandering ghosts - yurei.
